Here’s something that really grinds my crank. Trying to figure out what the hell things really mean through all the salesmanship, rhetoric, political correctness and outright BULLSHIT that just fills the language today.

It’s past the year 2000. Where the hell is my flying car?!
When I was growing up, back in the days when slide rules and phonographs roamed the Earth, the Big Date we all looked forward to was the Year 2000. It was a standard metaphor for anything futuristic. The year 2000 was rampant in movie titles. Cherry 2000; Death Race 2000; 2001: A Space Odyssey; Space: 1999. What did we get? Windows 2000. Oh yip.
